2014 is already in full swing and looking back on last year for me on a professional and a personal level is something I enjoy doing every year. Professionally, I worked on some great projects that I have just put up on my site including Beerdog, Kabuto, Hapyak and Zappylab. I took a class on iOS development and launched two of my own apps last year – CapeShare & HopScheduler. On a personal level last year was big one for me as I married my sweetheart and we threw a successful DIY backyard wedding here on Cape Cod. I was also able to spend some good time Surfing, Growing Organic Food, and Oil Painting in my free time. I also got introduced to Single Speed Mountain Biking and am really enjoying that these days. It was a great year of professional and personal growth for me.
Last week I launched a new site documenting some of the projects I’ve worked on over the past two years including; Beerdog, Hapyak, kabuto, awesomeli, Bin Ends Wine and Zappylab. I’ve tried to show a little more of my UI/UX design process in this redesign to help guide the viewer into some of my thinking on various projects and how we end up with the final product. I’ve worked with alot of startups in the past couple of years so there has been no shortage of work from Branding to UX to Illustration and Product Layout in those pages.
For 2014 I’ve decided to search for a product team to join in a UI/UX Design position working remotely. I’ve been working freelance for the past eight years and it’s been interesting working on the huge variety of projects, but I really want to dig deeper on a product. I’d like to funnel all my experience and effort into helping a team take a product through its life cycle, iterate and make it better. I feel this is the logical next step in my career working on web & mobile products.
